Tommy Coggio has been tapped to be the new bass player for the blame. Coggio has played with Jokers Wild and The Seth Yakovone Band, among others, and is currently in rehearsals with the band. "We're all really excited", said Dan Parks, "This cat can play." Drummer Corey Many adds, "This line-up is going to be fu**in' hot!"
Coggio's first show with the band will be the Halloween Bash at Ri Ra in Burlington, Saturday, October 29 (10pm).

The new single "Christmas Eve" became available for digital download today. (Get it on this very site) Recorded, mixed, and mastered just last week, it is the first 'blame' release in nearly two and a half years. The band says there will be a full-length CD (and downloads) in 2011.

'the blame' are heading to the studio this week to record a single for December release. The recording, and immediate release, will be followed by more studio sessions and the completion of an as yet untitled, full-length CD expected sometime in the first half of 2011.
"That's the plan.", said Dan Parks on Monday. "The CD is going to take a while, but we wanted to get something out for the [holiday] season. So it's only going to be available via digital download, but it will be part of the CD."
The band's last release was in 2008; a single, the uber-sexual "I Want It", on the soundtrack of the film National Lampoon's Cattle Call.
Sandra Wright 1948-2010

January 13, 2010
We just received news of Sandra Wright's passing. Sandra was a blues/jazz/soul diva in the Burlington scene, for almost two decades, since moving to Vermont from Nashville. (

As Dave was Sandra's guitar player, and her bassist John Harris has played numerous shows with the blame, this certainly hits close to home and is felt by all of us. Our thoughts, prayers, and positive cosmic vibes go out to all of her friends and family. She will be missed.
On a personal level, I remember seeing many of Sandra's shows (Red Square, Nectar's, etc.), I remember the incredible voice. And she, knowing I was a friend of Dave, John, and drummer Lloyd Herrmann, would always be sure to say hello, and take a couple of minutes to chat with me.
Vermont and the music world has lost a great one.
With love and peace,
dp
